Plans for Saturday's Weather

Hey Everyone,

We have been monitoring the forecast very closely, and severe weather looks nearly certain tomorrow. Our goal is try to get as many games in as we can, while also limiting the amount of time that teams have to sit waiting and wondering if and when play will resume.

As a result, here are our plans for tomorrow. Once severe weather hits and we are forced to stop play, we will invoke Plan A or Plan B, depending on how the forecast looks at that time. We will communicate all news and keep everyone up to date via email from GotSoccer, on our tournament website, Facebook group, and Twitter. Be sure to follow us on those channels:

Plan A:

If the weather looks lighter than we are expecting, we will attempt to play all games. Halves will be shortened and start times will be adjusted as needed. When the weather delay hits, if a game is at half-time or later, it will be considered final. If you are still in the first half of your game, it will be resumed after the weather delay. Remember, we are looking at considerable severe weather tomorrow and are trying to balance maximum game time for all teams.

Plan B:

If the forecast looks as we expect, we are looking at delays from around 11am - 3pm. When the weather hits, our focus will be to get every team ONE game on Saturday. As a result, if you have already played one game on Saturday, your second game will be cancelled and both teams will be awarded a 0-0 tie. If you have not yet played your first game, your start time will be adjusted and started after the delay.  When the weather delay hits, if a game is at half-time or later, it will be considered final. If you are still in the first half of your game, it will be resumed after the weather delay. In this scenario, our hope is to keep all games at normal length, without shortening halves.

We will be in constant communication throughout the day as the weather changes to let you know our plans moving forward.

We look forward to having a fun weekend of soccer!

Thanks,

Chase Jackson
